Onyx Card Sharing updated
I did test some onyx receivers and the maximum card sharing if you connect the cables without an amplifier is 3 receivers, including the server. Lucky i found another way to share the card up to 8 Receivers. Simply i used an Ethernet (LAN) switch as amplifier, using a cat5 cable, i did connect an RJ45 cable at one end, and an RS 232 Connector at the other. Make sure that you will use the same wiring diagram at all cables, a switch with an up link port is recommended also.
After you finish the wiring, put the RJ45 of the server on the uplink port and the client on any other available port. You can use 8, 16, or 24 port switch, but remember the onyx software supports up to 8 clients only, so i recommend you to buy 8 port one since is cheaper and make sure you don’t get an gigabit switch cuz will cost you more.
Soon i will post new real pictures from the receiver wiring.
The same thing can be used to trick Quadro receivers and i have only tested it on 8050, 8055, 8200 and 8205 models.

If you cant make the card sharing to work, you can still use key, and one of the best updated sites is croupload.com . Use a null modem cable (RS232) and you models software from this site, because entering keys from remote control sometimes don’t work. Please not that some receivers requires to be shuted down and then turn on, so the PC can regonise the model using the null modems cable handshake protocol.
Ohh and the most important, i almost forgat, if you plan to plug/unplug the coaxialsatellite antenna cable from the back of your receiver, ALWAYS turn off the reciver, usually couses the reciver to lose all its setting and keys imediately. It happend to me many times and i finaly learn why
I’m sure you i have forgated to explain things so if you have truble just write a comment.
