Magic Jack for cell phone
The company that sells Magic Jack, which allows users to make phone calls through the internet, now has something new to offer to consumers.
A new version of Magic Jack, which costs $40, will go to the market in next four months. The device allows users to make phone calls from their cell phones without having to pay any fee to the cell phone carrier.
Like the current version of Magic Jack, phone calls do not go through any landline or any wireless carrier’s connection. Because of this, users can call others in the United States and Canada without paying anything to cell phone companies.
The Magic Jack will work on the cell phones that subscribe to the services provided by AT&T Inc. and T-mobile USA which use the GSM standard, but not Version Wireless and Sprint Nextel Corp which do not connect to Magic Jack.
U.S. wireless carriers have been selling devices called femtocells similar to the wireless Magic Jack. Femtocells use the carrier’s licensed spectrum just like Magic Jack to connect a phone call and route the call to a home broadband internet connection like cable or DSL connections. But these are more complex devices compared to Magic Jack.
CEO Dan Borislow, YMAX, the manufacturer based out of Palm Beach, Florida was cited as saying that the new electronic instrument is legal. The federal Trade Commission and wireless carriers have not responded to the news released this week at the International Consumers Electronics Show.

Cheap VPS & VDS
Are you looking for a cheap Virtual Private Server ( VPS ) or a Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS), which is stable, fast, free setup (no setup free). I bet all of them ask you to pay more then 20$ per month. Well i found a cheap company, which i use to host my astersik PBX on that VPS, also i use it for Calling card company and hosting for several websites. Sounds impossible but is true and i pay only 9.9$ a month, and this is the reason why i chose to give it a review on my website, really deserves it.
I do run the latest version on Asterisk PBX and also a2billing on a VPS, i have incoming virtual numbers from didww.org configured on it, and my clients call them to get access to my calling card service. I do host a website in it, which can be used to make a call back or a pc2phone call. The server works very well, low latency and very fast. I do run it under fedora 4, but you can install other linux distributions from the QuantAct Control Panel such as:
I use the cheapest plan Open VZ 128 and i have a dedicated IP for free. If you don’t believe me, sign up and try their service because you have a 30 money back warranty. For more visit their website at http://www.quantact.com/ and dont search google for free VPS or free VDS, YOU CAN’T FIND ANY no one offers them for free.

Free voip credit
Once upon a time, when Voice over IP was not so popular, i enjoyed free credits from many voip companies. As the time passed by, and those companies got many new registered users, all of them removed the free credit “donation”.
I thought that i can not find any voip company that will give me free credit just for sign up in 2009, but i was wrong. After 1 hour of googling, because i wanted to convince my self that i can not get free credit, but i was wrong. A company named Virtual Call Center Solutions (VCCS) gave me for real 1$ for signing up at their website. With that 1$ you can all almost 50 minutes to US or many land line phones all over the world. You can call cell phones too, but your call duration wont last longer then 10 min.
You can try their service at http://www.vccs.ca/Wholesale-Termination.html , their service is offered using SIP, and the billing interval and rates are great:

Give them a try, you wont lose anything. However if you look for a long term provider my favorite are betamax companies, because no1 can beat their rates. Check which company will cost cheaper for your calls at www.backsla.sh/betamax
however, if your looking for a long term
Freeware hotel mamagement system software
I’m pretty sure that thousands of people search for a good and free open source hotel / motel software for download. Today im going to tell you what you can and what you can not find.
First of all there are free open source hotel software but none of them i complete, so unless you are a experienced programmer you can not make them work correctly and you can not sell that crap. If you are a student, and you would like to use them for your projects, hmmm im sure you can pass the exam with them but you can max get a 7 ( C ) from those projects. Here are to the best free open source softwares:
1.Hotel management System HMS . The software has a good interface, but it has some non sense function such as the option menu which is useless, and the billing is crap. The programs DB is pretty good, its in MS access and can be used if you want to develop your own software.
2. Hotel Manager front desk its a pretty good application almost 95% complete. The only problem is that its in German and you’ll have to translate it. Nice job for the programmer
Well as i told you, none of the open source software is not 100% complete. But if you own a small hotel up to 25 rooms, you can still get a free software. The name of the software is Asi Frontdesk freeware, and its one of the best hotel management software on the market. If you have more then 25 rooms, you will have to buy it, for which you get many new features, but unfortunately the prices are very high and that’s the only negative side of this software. It has been developed by anand systems and can be found by clicking here
And of course the desert now, the best as the last, the cherry on the top of the cake, … Hotel Reservation System from BistoneSoft (can be found at http://hotel.bistonesoft.com/ or click here ). Hotel Reservation System is a small, simple but powerful software. It is well designed and it has a user friendly interface. It has been developed lately but the developers are really very good guys, i gave them some suggestions and surprisly they made the corrections immediately. They have the best support i ever seen, and if you run a hotel this is what you need. Another good side is that is very very cheap, only $98.95 USD, and you can add unlimited rooms (i hope they wont raise the price later). Give it a try and download the trial version at their website.
Judge which is the best for you and choose it, or stay tuned for the next update on this topic … BYE

Netgear Wireless G Router WGR614 v9
I do own now another router model, new manufacturer and new model. Here what i think about my Netgear cheap router.
The Netgear WGR614 design is fancy but if you check the back of the router has a fixed antenna, but leater when you’ll check out the wireless range you’ll notice that is not so bad, so dont worry at this point. It’s installation is easy, comes with 1 Wan and 4 lan ports. If your a newbie the routers comes with a CD which has some manuals, but i never opened it.
If you connected the cables correctly (including the power cord
) you can access the router, but you can not do it through the wireless interface yet. I know that its boring but first you can to connect your PC using LAN cable, and access the router by typing 192.168.1.1 on you internet browser. The default user/pass is Username: admin and Password:password . Don’t forget to change it to a custum one as soon as possible. The wizard will be shown and will lead you to the ISP connection setup. During the wizard the wireless interface of the router will be activated, so dont be afraid if you cant detect it yet from your wireless device.
A cool feature is that this router is capable of detecting the network ip infrastructure and if it detects any problems with other routers on the same network, it changes its own IP automatically to a new one which is available (which is not the case with the repotec which i reviewed a month ago). Another cool stuff is the firmware upgrade assistant, which detects if a new version is available for downloading and Netgear’s servers, and it downloads it and install automatically. I just opened my router page and i got this message:
Firmware Upgrade Assistant
A New Firmware Version is Found. Do You Want to Download the New Version Now?
Current Version 1.0.9WW
New Version 1.2.6WW
However, if your current version works well, I don’t recommend you upgrading and experimenting. You may face problems or difficulties with new firmwares. You can turn off the assistant by unchecking the box of automatically check the firmware version on start up.
Unfortunetly this is all that surpised me and everything else is soo awful. The netgear menu is arranged very badly and usually makes no sense. Thanks god that there is a help section on every page so i recommand you reading before changing any values.
Ohh and the current firmware support only DYNDNS and dynamic ip service.

Repotec Wireless G router
While i was reading on Internet, i found out that Belkin was paying cash to amazon users for good reviews about their products. This really sucks, you cant really trust anyone on net, not even a big company like Belkini. That’s why i choosed to tell you my honest opinion about a router manufacturer called repotec.
I bought a repotec router RP-WR1440A a year ago, because it was way cheaper that linksys or D-link. As soon as i installed it, i was surprised to see how this unknown brand was full of features that are hard to find on many low priced routers. It is a b/g router, and I’m very satisfied with its wireless range. Another reason why i like it so much, is that the antenna its detachable, so i did upgrade it to a most powerful one (which is not the case with my newest netgear router).
After a month or so, i had to extend the router range so i could connect from my office which is near my house. So i choose to buy another RPC router, and to give it a try by using the WDS feature (Wireless distribution system or service i really forgot what the S stands for
). I must admit making it work, was a big pain in the ass, because in the documentation it was not written that i have to set the DHCP off on the secondary router (the extender), and it took me a week or so to figure this out. But i was surprised to have the router connected together wirelessly.
This router comes with additional 4 Ethernet ports so you can use it to extend it by FTP cable to because the router support bridge mode too. It also has dynamic ip support (dyndns and tzo), logs, statistics, wizard, vpn tunnels, nat/firewall, port redirecting and lots of other features.
There are two negative sides which i’ve found, but not so important to worry about. Fist, browsing the internet from iphone is a hell, but its not the repotec problem, its a iphone issue because i read in internet that other brand routers are not compatible with iphone too. Second, there is no firmware update for this model yet, but this could be because really the router works great and there is no need for upgrade.

Synchronize Iphone <-> google contacts
Finally iPhone and gmail (google) users can synchronize their contacts between each other. Now if loose or brake your iPhone at least you can save all your contacts, and its worth to do it. The procedure takes maximum 1 minute, and no additional software is required. More information you can get at google’s website http://www.google.com/mobile/apple/sync.html. Ohh yeah i forgot, you can synchronize contacts from other cell phones such as blackberry or symbian phones too, but i never tested them.
Joiku – Use symbian phones as Access Point
After two weeks I’m finally back today with two new posts. I’m writing about a software for some Nokia and Samsung cell phone which have WiFi, that enables you to share the GPRS/EDGE or 3G Internet, from you phone to your laptop or Desktop PC (it must be equiped with a wireless adapter). The software name is JOIKU, it is a hard name to remember, but it does finish you a hell of a job if your in a place where there is not free wifi Internet.
I really do hate browsing the internet from a non iphone cellphone, because it very hard to navigate with arrows. Also some jobs are almost impossible to finish if you don’t have a computer.
I found JOIKU while i was searching from google for a software similar to PDANET for my Nokia E66. And whola here comes JOIKU, it impressed me that much so i decided to write a review for my blog readers. The software comes in two version:
Light – Which is offered for free but has some limitations.
Premium – A paid version, where you can do almost anything.
JoikuSpot Light is a FREE limited edition of JoikuSpot that transforms your mobile phone to a 3G WLAN Hot Spot. You can connect your laptop or other WLAN device to web everywhere using your mobile phone and enjoy 3G speed. It does not have any speed limitation but it does support only HTTP and HTTPS protocols.
With Premium Edition you can do much more: Premium is optimized for fastest connection speed and maximum connection stability, connects to your corporate intraweb and email securely (Outlook, Gmail, etc.), and supports all additional network protocols such as Skype and MSN. In addition, there is no forced landing page in Premium Edition. Also 13 languages are supported.
I did test it under XP and Vista, but as i read user comments under their website, they have tested it on PSP, Other cellphone, OS X, and even UBUNTU ( to work under ubuntu you must choose the AP to work from channel 1 to 6). The software had many options such as encryption, battery threshold, encryption key etc. But the best of all is that it is very easy to configure it, and no further configuration at you PC is required (compared to PDAnet for which you have to do some additional configuration on your computer).
If you cant download it, they even made a form where you enter you cell phone number, and they send the application at your phone. Almost all nokia wlan models can be used. Please not that this software can not be used to share a wifi connection, although it could be very cool if joiku team could add this feature, because at this case the cell phone could be used as wifi range extender.
Errr… I dont know what else to mention, this APP is great, check it out by yourself at joiku.com, you can test the LIGHT version for free. They even wrote that the light version might work for other protocols then HTTP and HTTPS,but you will face with errors and difficulties so i never tried it. If your a pirate software lover, go find it from google, it is available at rapidshare. HINT: use this as searching string: “joiku site:rapidshare.com”. Im sure you’ll get several links.
StatCounter.com
StatCounter.com is definitely the best site for tracking visitors on your. The reason why I choose to review it and share it with my readers, is that its free and invisible compered to rivals like sitemeter.com .
I used it for the first time a year ago, on some small projects and I’m really satisfied. The statcounter is full with features like:
Popular Pages
Entry Pages
Exit Pages

Recent Keyword Activity
Recent Came From
Search Engine Wars
Exit Links
Exit Link Activity
Visitor Paths
Visit Length
Returning Visits
Recent Pageload Activity
Recent Visitor Activity
Recent Visitor Map
Country/State/City/ISP
Browsers
etc.
It can be used on multiple web sites, without having to register once again at the website, instead you can easily create a new project when you log in on your account. The code comes with tutorial which described how to implement it on almost any CMS or blog, which can be hosted on your hosting account or it can be even on a server which is managed by a company such as blogspot.com. If your still on sitemetter, give it a try because its free and I’m sure you’ll transfer soon to statcounter.com.
The only limitation is that statcounter in free edition keep records of the latest 500 visitors only, but you can download the activity and save it on you PC at anytime. I’m going to give a 3.7 if someone would ask me to rate it from 1 to 5

Worth to review – Crazy Penguin Catapult
Im starting a new cattegory on my blog called “Worth to review”, which is deticated to review applications, hardware or website that are cool. I’m going to start with a game for iphone/ipod called Crazy Penguin Catapult wich by the way has “infected” me too. Its all started when I was downloading games on my iphone, so i could play while i was taking a flight.
Actually the game is simple but quite interesting, easy and atractive. You have to shot penguins with a cataoult on a special space which is changing during different levels. All penguing which pass the catapullt shot can be used on the next step to beat the polar bear. But the game is not boring at all, each level has its own surprise. Each catapult shot is different and you have to be concentrated to shot the penguins over the fire ring, becouse the bears are covered with ice, so you’ll need to fire up the penguins helmet to bypass the ice easily.
During the game, you’re rated on each mission with up to three starts, and when you reach a certain number of starts your peguins are beeing rewarded with special fetures which helps you to finish your missions easily. Even that im not a game fan, Crazy Penguin Catapult ’s developers successfuly finished their mission and made me play this game not only during my fligh, but for a whole week.
The game price is pretty cheap 4.99$ but for jalbroken iphone and ipod users is offered for free using appulo.us a.k.a. appshare.
