Jaibrake and unlcock is available for 3.1
Thanks to Dev Team, now we can jailbrake and unlock the newest apple firmware 3.1 . At the moment their tool works on Mac only, but im sure that they will release a windows version very soon, and i will notify you about that. I’m unable to give you a fully step by step guide to unlock and jailbrake because i do not own a mac, so here is the guide from Dev-Team’s website:
This is the low down on our tools for use with the 3.1 firmware from Apple, please read the whole post in full before attempting anything. Because of changes with Apple’s update techniques (that complicate the 3GS upgrade process) this will be a multipart release. This release starts with PwnageTool 3.1 for Mac OS X – this application supports the iPhone 1st Generation (2G), the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch 1G. NB: THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT THE 3GS OR 2G/3G IPOD TOUCH. redsn0w for Mac OS X and Windows will follow sometime in the near future, please don’t bug us about it – we’ll release when we have something ready.
- GOLDEN RULE:If you are using a 3G iPhone with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should only upgrade to 3.1 with a PwnageTool created .ipsw. – Stay away from Apple’s direct updates as described here and here please get up to speed on the whole subject by reading the information contained in these posts.
- If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.1 unlock works with this PwnageTool release. iPhone 3G users upgrading to 3.1 will need to continue using ultrasn0w with a PwnageTool created 3.1 .ipsw
- Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
- Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
- At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the 3.1 capable version of PwnageTool.
- This app is suitable for the recent 3.1 release.
- This version of PwnageTool will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.
- PwnageTool WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch (1st Generation) and the iPhone 3G.
iPhone 2G (1st Generation)
Use PwnageTool to do the magic and then restore with iTunes using your newly created .ipsw ‘nuff said, you don’t need to worry about anything, the baseband will be unlocked, the phone jailbroken.
iPod touch 1G (Original iPod Touch)
Use PwnageTool to create a firmware image and restore with that .ipsw using iTunes.
iPod touch 2G
Sorry, no support at this time within PwnageTool, use Redsn0w for an earlier (pre 3.1) firmware release instead.
iPod touch 3G (New iPod Touch)
Sorry, no support at this time within PwnageTool

Install Windows from USB
Have you ever wanted to install Windows from a USB ? Or you work as a services, and you have to format a PC but it doesn’t have a CD/DVD reader? Dont worry, thanks to WinToFlash you can now install Windows XP, Vista, and 7 onto a flash drive as well as Server 2003 and 2008. WinToFlash can also transfer Windows Preinstallation Environments to flash drive.
The process is simple and mostly obvious. You tell WinToFlash where the installation files you want to transfer are located and either let the transfer wizard take care of things, or specify settings like what kind of format the flash drive will undergo. In our test using a USB 2.0 generic flash drive it took about 12 minutes to turn a Windows 7 installation DVD into a USB-based installer.
WinToFlash is also freeware and of course it runs under Windows only. And please dont forget to setup the BIOS to boot from the Flash Drive first.

News about Iphone firmware 3.1
Well first the new Iphone firmware 3.1 is expected to come somewhere near September 17th. This information comes from the current 3.1 beta versions, and hacker found out that it will expire at 18 of September. So we expect the new version to come one or two days before this date. Please note that apple might release another beta, so they can delay the final version again.
There are people who don’t know what changes will come with the new firmware so for them this is a nice overview. For the people who already know everything about this 3.1 version, just pretend you’ve never seen this list before 
.
As you can see that the modem firmware is going to be upgraded again to 5.08.01 so you should wait for jailbraking and unlocking till dev-team or geohot hack them again. Oh and i almost forgat, if you browse my website from Iphone now you have probably noticed that now supports Iphone style browsing, and also work better under android and windows mobile.
