Onyx Card Sharing updated

I did test some onyx receivers and the maximum card sharing if you connect the cables without an amplifier is 3 receivers, including the server. Lucky i found another way to share the card up to 8 Receivers. Simply i used an Ethernet (LAN) switch as amplifier, using a cat5 cable, i did connect an RJ45 cable at one end, and an RS 232 Connector at the other. Make sure that you will use the same wiring diagram at all cables, a switch with an up link port is recommended also.
After you finish the wiring, put the RJ45 of the server on the uplink port and the client on any other available port. You can use 8, 16, or 24 port switch, but remember the onyx software supports up to 8 clients only, so i recommend you to buy 8 port one since is cheaper and make sure you don’t get an gigabit switch cuz will cost you more.
Soon i will post new real pictures from the receiver wiring.
The same thing can be used to trick Quadro receivers and i have only tested it on 8050, 8055, 8200 and 8205 models.

The previous post can be found at this link:

If you cant make the card sharing to work, you can still use key, and one of the best updated sites is croupload.com . Use a null modem cable (RS232) and you models software from this site, because entering keys from remote control sometimes don’t work. Please not that some receivers requires to be shuted down and then turn on, so the PC can regonise the model using the null modems cable handshake protocol.

Ohh and the most important, i almost forgat, if you plan to plug/unplug the coaxialsatellite antenna cable from the back of your receiver, ALWAYS turn off the reciver, usually couses the reciver to lose all its setting and keys imediately. It happend to me many times and i finaly learn why :)

I’m sure you i have forgated  to explain things so if you have truble just write a comment.

Freeware hotel mamagement system software

I’m pretty sure that thousands of people search for a good and free open source hotel / motel software for download. Today im going to tell you what you can and what you can not find.
First of all there are free open source hotel software but none of them i complete, so unless you are a experienced programmer you can not make them work correctly and you can not sell that crap. If you are a student, and you would like to use them for your projects, hmmm im sure you can pass the exam with them but you can max get a 7 ( C ) from those projects. Here are to the best free open source softwares:
1.Hotel management System HMS . The software has a good interface, but it has some non sense function such as the option menu which is useless, and the billing is crap. The programs DB is pretty good, its in MS access and can be used if you want to develop your own software.
2. Hotel Manager front desk its a pretty good application almost 95% complete. The only problem is that its in German and you’ll have to translate it. Nice job for the programmer

Well as i told you, none of the open source software is not 100% complete. But if you own a small hotel up to 25 rooms, you can still get a free software. The name of the software is Asi Frontdesk freeware, and its one of the best hotel management software on the market. If you have more then 25 rooms, you will have to buy it, for which you get many new features, but unfortunately the prices are very high and that’s the only negative side of this software. It has been developed by anand systems and can be found by clicking here

And of course the desert now, the best as the last, the cherry on the top of the cake, … Hotel Reservation System from BistoneSoft (can be found at http://hotel.bistonesoft.com/ or click here ). Hotel Reservation System is a small, simple but powerful software. It is well designed and it has a user friendly interface. It has been developed lately but the developers are really very good guys, i gave them some suggestions and surprisly they made the corrections immediately. They have the best support i ever seen, and if you run a hotel this is what you need. Another good side is that is very very cheap, only $98.95 USD, and you can add unlimited rooms (i hope they wont raise the price later). Give it a try and download the trial version at their website.

Judge which is the best for you and choose it, or stay tuned for the next update on this topic … BYE

2in1 – Recycle Bin tricks

I dont ever yse the recycle bin becouse i always press the SHIFT when i delete files. By pressing shift the files are being deleted permanently, thats why i dont need the recycle bin. Unfurtunately you can not delete the recycle bin by pressing delete. Of course that you can do it in alternate way and here is what you should do :

Run Regedit (Start->Run->type regedit->click OK) and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/
CurrentVersion/explorer/Desktop/NameSpace Click on the “Recycle Bin” string in the right hand pane. Hit Del, click OK.

Well in case you dont want to get rid of it becouse you use it, you can still be cool by renaming it. Here is how you can do it:

Open Regedit (Start->Run->type regedit->click OK) and go to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

and change the name “Recycle Bin” to whatever you want.

Easy website hacking – The legal way

Looking at some ad on TV, i got a brilliant idea to teach you how to defeat a website for like 1 hour, and what is more funny its totally legal. Im sure that you will start laughing right now, but you will see that im not wrong at all.

I come from a small country, the Internet is expensive, and so everything else is. However to attract more business customers each ISP gives free web hosting packages when you subscribe to one of their websites. WOW this is really great if you dont have a idea of what you really get. They give you from 10 to 100 MB web hosting space (heh) and a monthly bandwidth of 2-3 GB (im not kidding its GB not TB).

My country has only 1 domain registrar, and i did a research on its database. I queried 50 random servers from the list of domains registered at their servers and 36 of them (72%) were using the ISP as web hosting providers. Well if you think that i will teach you how to hack this servers your wrong ( and i wont even know how im not an hacker ), but if you really think a little, shutting down this web sites is pretty easy.  They have 2 to 3 GB monthly traffic bandwidth, and when they reach this limit they are basically off line till the rest of the month. This is the weakness that you should use. Download a offline browser software, which is an application that lets you browse a website offline. What this software really do, is downloading the content of a specific website to your HDD as HTML together with all images and other files stored on that server. When you download all the content, you spent the websites bandwidth very easily. So you will have to repeat the downloading step for 500 – 1000 times (depending on the website, if your lucky sometimes you can do it for 100 times or less). For less then 1 hour the website will reach its limit and its going to be offline during that month.

It is cool if you hate someone :) and its totally legal. You have not done anything illegal at all. You have just used some resources from that website. Please note that you can not hack google in this way lol. But if your neighbor is your enemy, you can do this to him. First check which hosting company is he using by doing a server query ( you can do it from www.msv.dk under the link “DNS Server Query”. The name servers will be listed there and you can easily find out where that website is hosted. Now open the host website and check out what bandwidth does they offer with their plans. If the plans have small bandwidth limits you can turn the website offline quickly.

This tutorial is for teaching purposes only. Its purpose it to teach people on choosing better hosting packages to avoid unwanted situations. Oh yeah i forgat dont even try it on my website cuz you will just loose your time, im using vexxhost as provider and im very satisfied with its uptime and speed. Too shame they dont pay me for this advertisment :) .

Netgear Wireless G Router WGR614 v9

I do own now another router model, new manufacturer and new model. Here what i think about my Netgear cheap router.

The Netgear WGR614 design is fancy but if you check the back of the router has a fixed antenna, but leater when you’ll check out the wireless range you’ll notice that is not so bad, so dont worry at this point. It’s installation is easy, comes with 1 Wan and 4 lan ports. If your a newbie the routers comes with a CD which has some manuals, but i never opened it.

If you connected the cables correctly (including the power cord :) ) you can access the router, but you can not do it through the wireless interface yet. I know that its boring but first you can to connect your PC using LAN cable, and access the router by typing 192.168.1.1 on you internet browser. The default user/pass is Username: admin and Password:password . Don’t forget to change it to a custum one as soon as possible. The wizard will be shown and will lead you to the ISP connection setup. During the wizard the wireless interface of the router will be activated, so dont be afraid if you cant detect it yet from your wireless device.

A cool feature is that this router is capable of detecting the network ip infrastructure and if it detects any problems with other routers on the same network, it changes its own IP automatically to a new one which is available (which is not the case with the repotec which i reviewed a month ago). Another cool stuff is the firmware upgrade assistant, which detects if a new version is available for downloading and Netgear’s servers, and it downloads it and install automatically. I just opened my router page and i got this message:

Firmware Upgrade Assistant

A New Firmware Version is Found. Do You Want to Download the New Version Now?

 Current Version 1.0.9WW

 New Version 1.2.6WW

However, if your current version works well, I don’t recommend you upgrading and experimenting. You may face problems or difficulties with new firmwares. You can turn off the assistant by unchecking the box of automatically check the firmware version on start up.

Unfortunetly this is all that surpised me and everything else is soo awful. The netgear menu is arranged very badly and usually makes no sense. Thanks god that there is a help section on every page so i recommand you reading before changing any values.

Ohh and the current firmware support only DYNDNS and dynamic ip service.

Easy Epson POS printer installation

Epson POS printers usually comer without any installation CD or Drivers. If this is the case with your printer too, don’t worry its installation is very easy. You dont need any additional CD drivers except the windows Installation CD / DVD .

Open the Control Panel and double click on Printers and Faxes icon. A new windows will be opened and double click on Add Printer. Don’T read the crap notices written in the wizard, just click next, then uncheck the Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer and click next, choose LPT1 as port (pos printers comes with LPT1 port) and click next again.

Now the wizard will be divided in two list boxes: Manufacturer and Printers. On the Manufacturers list box go to Generic ( you can go straight there by pressing the letter G on keyboard).  Now on the Printers list box you will see a printer Generic / Default printer as model, and just click next, next … next (you might be prompted to insert the Windows CD) until the wizard will finish. Thats all, your printer is ready to be used.

This drivers might be used as default drivers for many other printer models but i have tested them only at Epson TM-U220PD and TM-T88 IV.

Ohh and dont every trust those software for automaticly driver installation, they really sucks, you have to buy them, their drivers usually dont work and they bomb you with adds.
